Cathy and Steve Vess have been building homes in Northern Virginia since 1988.

After designing a beautiful custom barn for themselves in 2004, they chose to focus fully on creating homes with built-in barns for other people who want something similar.

They are experts in constructing barn homes and equestrian facilities.

Contacted them because we had questions. Got a text back ask where I like to build and gave him an answer. Got a text back pretty much dismissing me. I’m I was open to other options but never once gave me none so my business will go elsewhere and will not be recommending theses peoples ever!! Wish you all the best with that type of customer service.

Normally don't write bad reviews, but I haven't dealt with folks like this before and it still bugs me to think about. This goes back a few years, so hopefully they've improved. We wasted 7+ months of increasing slow responses, often took weeks to hear back. Basically treated as we were not worth their time and flat out told us so in the end. They seemed like good and easy going people to work with at first, but something happened where our project wasn't worth whatever else they had going on. Beyond the loss of money for engineered drawings and other fees, we lost a lot of time and effort to reset and find someone else to help us. Good news, we found an amazing builder to work with and they built an amazing barn/hobby shop for us. Should have listened to my gut earlier with these guys.

We are so pleased with Steve and his team. They were by far the most responsive during the quoting and contracting process and the delivered when they said they would every time. We are over the moon with our new garage and would recommend We Build Barns to everyone and anyone.
